Opsis is a spinoff from A*STAR / ADSC (Agency for Science, Technology and Research) which is a statutory board under the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore. Its award-winning emotion AI technology was developed with millions invested in 5 years of R&D. It is of healthcare grade, trained from close to half a million psychometric data points from more than 300,000 in-person interviews with patients and nonpatients, in partnerships with hospitals and healthcare institutions.
Our key differentiator is our multimodal and highly flexible deep learning model developed from various psychological fields annotation. Our multimodal techniques merge Face, Speech, Physiological signals and Gestures to detect and quantify human emotional states with refine classification. We also use the Circumplex Model of Affect, which can detect thousands of subtle expressions vs 7 basic labels. Our accuracy is one of the highest in the industry.
Our model can address a variety of business problems and use cases across a number of different industries and instantly deliver emotion data and insights when used in a new domain.
Opsis is used in Singapore government’s first-time initiative in using AI-aided counselling & mental health screening for its elderly in 2021 in respond to the Covid-19 pandemic. Although our R&D and focus has been historically in healthcare use cases, we have further expanded to new industry verticals and business functions. We are running pilots and have several partnerships and projects across other key industries: banking & insurance, automotive, security, education and customer experience analytics.
